Mini Meet

The annual “Mini-Meet” for 10 and Under swimmers is hosted by Stratford Knolls and Northlake

Thirty-five (35) events have been scheduled for the meet. This is a great opportunity for some of your older swimmers to showcase their coaching potential by helping to plan the event.

Reasonable efforts will be made prior to the start of the meet to “broker” swimmer lending between teams to complete relay teams and allow teams with excess swimmers to fill in empty lanes when other teams do not have swimmers.

  • Each team will have one lane assigned to it with its confirmation of entry. If not all lanes are filled, opportunities may be offered for a participating team to have a second lane.
  • Each team will supply:
    • 1 ribbon writer (you will probably want to bring more than one and since the meet is not scored, ribbon stickers will not be printed)
    • 4 timers
    • 1 standard t-shirt with short sleeves (not tank top) for the relay
  • Each team will supply its own event cards that should be filled out completely before arriving at the meet.
  • Each team will write its own ribbons (1st through 6th place ribbons will be awarded for all heats).
  • 6 and Under swimmers will be allowed to swim once in each kickboard and 6 and Under event if desired.
  • Each team will be responsible for bringing its own kickboards. Please label your kickboards with your team name, if you want them back. If you want us to keep them, don’t label them.
  • Any swimmer will be allowed to swim up but only once per event (i.e., cannot swim 6 and Under free plus 8 and Under free).
  • Warm ups will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.
  • The meet will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
  • Swim league rules will apply with the following exceptions. The 90-second rule for 6 and Under swimmers will not be in effect and “helpers” may be in the pool with kickboarders as long as they do not assist the swimmer with propulsion.
  • All starts will be at the deep end of the pool except relay exchanges.
  • No swimmer is allowed to swim more than one leg of the same relay.
  • T-shirt relay: shirt must be completely on (all extremities in proper holes) and ONLY members of the relay team may assist in the exchange.
  • Lack of light generally prevents extra heats in these events.
